Punk’ed
2008
In last week’s issue of New York Magazine, there was a fascinating article about the city’s punks who live, play — and sleep — around St. Marks Place, a few blocks away from Union Square. While we were in the area this past weekend, and I talked my cousin into taking a spin around to see if we could spy any real-life punks. I’ve known a few kids who wear band Tshirts, dye their hair Kool-Aide colors, and collect edgy piercings, but I had yet to cross paths with an authentic street punk.
Until today.
On my way home, I heard shouting, squealing tires, and taxi honking. After turning around, I spotted a gaggle of punks crossing the street into oncoming traffic and there, in the middle of it all, were Jamie and Jazmin straight out of the article. First Dan Humphrey, now New York Magazine’s very own punks? I sure am racking up the celebrity sightings…
