Fall Jean Fashions

Fashion all depends on where you look. Madonna is in London expanding her own fashion line with Brit for women; and in Chicago they’re doing something really different.

Chicago Fashions and Jeans

Wide legged jeans are in for fall according to Chicago stylists. Oh don’t give me that look; I don’t make these things up. Back in 2005 you had that same look on your face when skinny jeans were suddenly in. And don’t worry about it if you think that you’re too fat for wide leg jeans or too thin for wide leg jeans or too short or too tall; you’re just right, if you want to be in style. Tommy Hilfiger has jumped on board without hesitation. You can currently find a 25% off coupon for this particular designer online. Madonna on the other hand, in London, has started her own women’s designer clothing line with her daughter, Lourdes. That said, keep in mind that her extended line of fashion is geared for girls 13 to 25. Here we are seeing acid washed studded, skinny jeans. Go figure.

How to Wear your Wide Legged Jeans

For those of you who are used to wearing your jeans down around your hips, you’re going to have a little alteration in your future. But not on the clothing! In your head… and around your waist. This autumn’s wide legged jeans are worn back up around the waist, where people used to wear pants. Knowing full well that different designers clothes fit differently bring a larger size than you’re used to into the dressing room with you and try those first. The rear pockets belong on your butt; not above or below. Do yourself (and everyone else) a big fashion favor and forgot the rhinestones and colored stitching. And the hem should not drag on the ground; nor should it look like you’re traipsing around in a wading pool.

Guess what else is back… Hats!

Universal Language of Denim: Los Angeles

Well guys, our street style tour has come to it’s final destination: Los Angeles, CA! Considering we started this stylish trip on the East Coast in NYC, it seemed like the appropriate place. I hope you guys have enjoyed this little project as much as I have! If there is only one thing you got out of it, I hope it was to celebrate your individuality-because someone out there is admiring you :)

And no matter how many different trends there are- whether it’s ripped jeans, tye dye jeans, high waisted jeans- in the end, they are all made from denim. Look into that as deep as you’d like ;) …but do know that, yes, I am comparing jeans to the human race :)

Leigh Lezark Might Have a New Job!

She looks so excited to be her.

Leigh Lezark is Matthew Williamson‘s new muse, according to rumors coming out of London. Leigh is, like Julia Restoin-Roitfeld, a hyphenate in denial. She still does D.J. gigs all over the world, but is increasingly focusing her energies on modeling. Signed with IMG, Lezark recently appeared in ads for Mango. Yet she doesn’t commonly refer to herself as D.J. slash model. Lezark would be replacing Sienna Miller as Williamson’s muse. Sienna’s clothing line Twenty8Twelve really started taking off this year, so maybe she’s too busy with that to hang out with Williamson in his studio. Or maybe Williamson wants to use an edgier face to diversify his boho customer base, now that the entire world is paying attention to him because of his H&M line. We don’t mean to vex you with nagging, unanswered questions like this as you head into your weekend, but sometimes extremely important and significant news such as this happens on Friday evening.

Is the New New: Leigh & Sienna [Fashionista]

Moschino, Alberta Ferretti, Pollini to Lower Prices

Michelle Obama in a Moschino blouse.

Italian fashion group Aeffe SpA owns Alberta Ferretti, Moschino, and Pollini brands and produces collections for Jean Paul Gaultier among others. They’re pretty broke these days, since they just lost $389,781 in the three months ended March 31. That doesn’t sound like a lot, but in the same period in 2008 they enjoyed net profits of $9 million. So they’re reacting “in a prompt and determined way” — with price cuts. They’re also reducing the size of the collections and laying some people off. All this should save them about $13.6 million in 2010. But! Have they considered riding the Michelle Obama wave? The woman wears Moschino. If the stuff is getting cheaper on top of that, marketing that brand should be cake.
