Lorick Lady

Lorick’s style week debut was absolutely stunning. Kicking off the spring season on such a high note, every other designer sure has a lot to live up to.

Not surprisingly, I have been repeatedly watching Nylon Magazine’s behind-the-scenes interviews, nibbling on pink icing cupcakes, and pretending I was there.

It’s not quite the same, but a girl can dream. And like Abigail said, anything is possible.

Beauty Tip Friday (on Saturday!): How to Fix a Blush Mistake

Lemon grass powder

It happens, I know. You get all excited about the new blush color you bought and get a little heavy-handed; or you’re getting ready when it’s still dark out (and you’re still half asleep) and the next thing you know, your cheeks have so much color on them you resemble Bozo the Clown’s kid sister.

So what do you do when your blush takes over your whole face? Easy.

  • Grab some translucent powder and swipe away.
  • Be sure to use a loose powder - pressed will do in a real pinch, but loose works better here and gives you more control.
  • Try to use the biggest, fluffiest brush in your collection (rather than a puff, which could streak).
  • Dip the brush in the powder, and gently tap the handle of the brush with your hand to shake off any excess.
  • Then…just dust over your color mishap until a more natural look emerges, and voila! A beautiful, healthy glow!

Family Crest

Posted by: admin
September 2nd,
2008

With the temperatures still hitting the 80 degree mark, it’s hard to imagine trading swimsuits and sandals for scarves and jackets. Once Labor Day passes, cool weather will breeze in, in full force, and blazers will quickly return as a favorite fall necessity.

I’ve spotted this fantastic striped, crested Ralph Lauren blazer twice and it is just so adorable. While I have striped blazers and crested blazers, I’ve been manically searching for the best of both worlds. Ideally, I would waltz into Ralph and walk away with this very blazer, but that would break my college budget… even though I would be the best dressed college student in the library. Instead, I might be ultra crafty and search the town for crest patches.

Gossip Girl In Style

September 1st,

I snagged my mom’s issue of InStyle over the weekend, and though I’ve been faithfully reading the mag since ‘98, I have never enjoyed a copy quite as much as this one.

They revitalized the layout, from the table of contents to the back-of-book, and I couldn’t put it down.

I dog-earred everything from a Q&A with Mary Kate Olson to a trendspot on plaid, my personal favorite is a style profile featuring the Gossip Girls. With the much-anticipated second season premiering tonight, it is not only timely, but also tempting enough to make me click through Shopbop in search of Blair’s adorable ballet flats.
